Ebbe and Tide - Hannah Grosshauser
I find a niche
to be,
and then the tide
takes me.
I float for
a while,
and then the ebbe
leaves me.
Periodic motion
engulfs my soul.
I belong
everywhere
and
nowhere.
I drift from shore
to shore.
I am, and then
I'm not.
I embrace
the land
when I am,
and let go
when I'm not.
Beautiful beaches
there are many,
'tis not the land.
And I know
who I am,
'tis not that either.
But who I am
cannot belong
to any land
fully,
and therefore
will always
float
again.
Who will
and
who can,
float with me,
drifting
to the same
ebbe and tide
that takes me?
