Ode to Asia - the Reunion - Hannah Grosshauser
In a place,
where pain and joy unite,
Sometimes tears
Are the only way
To express
A host of emotions
Without name.
Home’ sweet ‘home’,
why are you so far away,
and yet so close?
My heart longs to grasp you,
But it knows not where to reach.
Years have gone by
Since we last met,
And not one has passed
That did not shed
A tear in memory of you.
Now here we are,
And it seems
I miss you all the more.
Once you were mine,
And I was yours.
Now I am,
But a foreigner
Passing through,
A role my heart will not accept.
I hear you call me,
Inviting me once more,
To embrace the life I lost.
But I know not how,
Nor when or where.
But let me tell you this:
Twas not chance that brought me here.
Our Maker paved the way
Both yesterday and today,
And if we have a tomorrow,
It too, lies in the palm of his hands,
To be released how, when and where
He sees fit.
